Here's one of the early punk/new wave bands made famous by Sid Vicious when he sang a drunken version of Roadrunner in the Great Rock n' Roll Swindle.

By the way, The Modern Lovers pre-existed Punk and it was Johnny Rotten who sang it.

oh yeah, it's supposed to say 'early protopunk/new wave' though they're more akin to new wave/indie sound than punk actually. And it was johnny rotten not sid vicious, my bad.
